Getting a good camera is just step one. Step two: learn how to use it!
Learning photography shouldn’t be a technical nightmare – it should be inspiring and fun. My two-day Photography Essentials Workshop in Maleny takes a step-by-step, plain English approach and is the ideal introduction to the world of creative photography.
DSLR and Mirrorless cameras are welcome, and I am familiar with all the major brands: Canon, Nikon, Sony, Olympus, Pentax, Fujifilm, Panasonic and more.
The skills you learn at Photography Essentials will help you with almost any kind of photography. Which of the following interest you?
* All things ‘nature’
Photography Essentials is perfect for beginners, and also for people who have been teaching themselves for a while and now need someone to help ‘put the pieces together.’ We start with the absolute basics and work our way up from there. By the end of day one you WILL understand all the settings that matter. Along with Shutter Speed, Aperture and ISO you will also learn about Focus, White Balance, lenses and more. Great photography is not just about camera settings: on day two we get creative with a detailed look at light and composition. See how to turn photo opportunities into works of art.
Matching theory with practice. Most workshops just take you somewhere pretty and give you a few pointers. At Photography Essentials the first half of each day is indoors, explaining all the theory you need to know (in plain English and with plenty of photos to illustrate). So when we go outside to practice, you don’t just know which button to press: you know what each button is for.
Here’s what you get with your booking:
* Two days of expert tuition with theory and practice sessions on both days
* A copy of Andrew’s 100 page e-book ‘DSLR Photography In Plain English’
* Membership of an exclusive online group, where past students share photos and feedback to keep learning – long after the workshop is over.
The workshops are held in picturesque Maleny, just a short drive from the Sunshine Coast and a popular weekend destination with visitors from Brisbane and beyond. If you need to organise a place to stay, CLICK HERE to see the accommodation guide from Hinterland Tourism.
Many people know how to take photos, but very few know how to teach. To learn photography you don’t just need someone who is good with a camera; you need someone who knows how to communicate in terms you can understand. I have been teaching for over a decade and have helped over 2,000 people – including some professionals – make a start in creative photography. Scroll to the bottom of the page to see testimonials from just a few of my past students.
Some workshops sell out weeks in advance, so BOOK NOW to avoid disappointment!
